For added security, the battery can be locked in place with a key (preventing theft of the battery, which has been reported in some areas) and the battery itself will not operate unless the key is in position, improving security when you are running errands and need to leave the e-bike unattended.
For enhanced efficiency when riding, the Malibu cruiser e-bike has been outfitted with a reliable 7-speed Shimano Tourney gear and shifter system which is especially important if riders are travelling on varied gradients or over uneven terrain. The drive system includes variable speed control, an easy to use twist throttle, pedal & power assist (PAS) and a pedal only option for when you feel like getting a real workout.
For improved comfort the Malibu has 26” diameter and 2.25” wide Kenda Balloon Cruiser Street tires since the larger diameter of the wheel is ideally suited for cruising (due to less energy wasted through friction and tire resistance).
